From engineering to global sourcing
I did not begin in indirect procurement. I began by tendering the works that build heavy infrastructure. In my early years I ran tenders for civil works (earthworks, foundations and buildings) and for electrical works (substations and high-voltage transmission lines). That is where I learned procurement in its most demanding form, where the scope is complex, the values are large, and a weak specification or a badly written contract has real consequences.
Over more than fifteen years across Spain, Italy and Germany, I moved from tendering those civil and electrical packages, to leading the commercial tenders and turnkey delivery of entire EPC projects, and finally to running global indirect sourcing today.
Why I built Procurement Academy
The best training I ever received came from doing the work, not from a slide deck. Procurement Academy is my attempt to pass that on. Every course is built from situations a buyer actually faces: the price-increase letter that lands in your inbox, the stakeholder who over-specifies, the contract clause that quietly decides who carries the risk. The templates are the ones I would use myself. The goal is simple: to give a new buyer in a year what took me several to learn the hard way.
